Source Control

Today we went over source control using Github Desktop! It uses Git under the hood (like many other SC applications), but it also makes it very easy to connect your GitHub account.

We went over the basics of Git: branches, commits, the staging area, and merging. We also covered one workflow that’s helpful for working on code with groupmates on GitHub, as well as going over pull requests, syncing branches, and merge conflicts.

Next Week

The Club and Organizations Fair is next week during our normal meeting time, so we won’t be having a meeting. The week after that, though, we’ll be getting familiar with terminals!
